FAQs

Can I have sessions with a nutritionist online or by phone?

Yes, Lots of nutrition professionals offer dietary support and advice online and over the phone, and this can be beneficial for clients who cannot attend face-to-face sessions

What can you expect from a nutritional therapist?

A nutritional therapist assesses a person’s nutritional needs to achieve optimal physiological function. This means the maintenance of homeostasis, a position of wellbeing we all seek, but many fail to achieve. Nutritional therapy is not a one pill wonder: it is a change in lifestyle to bring your body back to optimum health. Although you may see some immediate improvements it can take the body time to come back into balance.

Is nutritional therapy a substitution for seeking medical advice?

It’s important to remember that nutritional therapy is not intended as a substitute for medical advice and if a practitioner identifies any 'red flag' symptoms indicative of a serious health issue, they will refer clients on to an appropriate medical professional.

What takes place at the Initial consultation?

During your initial consultation we focus on:

MYMOP FORM – Measure Yourself Medical Outcome Profile, where we assess your main symptoms

We look at – Previous medical history, Prescription medications – past and present, Herbal and natural supplement, Family history. We dig deeper into our body systems – such as gastrointestinal tract, nervous system, endocrine function, reproductive systems, allergies and immunity, respiratory tract, urinary tract, cardiovascular system, musculo-skeletal system, skin. We discuss food intake.

What happens at the Follow-up consultation?

We discuss compliance with the initial plan and achievements, successes, challenges and how we can move forward.

How much does it cost?

The initial consultation is £89. Follow up consultations are £69. Or there is an option of buying a package for £207 (this includes 1 x initial consultation and 2 x follow ups) The package option is the most popular and is also the most successful in helping clients attain their desirable results. The package can be spread over 3 months which helps motivate clients to become committed to new lifestyle changes and achieving long term results.

Alternatively, I am available for one off, 30 minute consultations (cost £40) Please follow the link on the homepage for the 'free consultation'.

How many consultations will I need?

There is no specific quantity or rule on how many consultations you will need. This will depend very much on your personal circumstances and what your health objectives are. Clients ask for advice at different stages of their life for different problems.

Do I have to have any functional testing done?

It is advisable to have specific test done because this will help us to dig deeper into your health concern and eliminates any guess work in our nutritional protocol. Testing show us what’s going on internally, and we can target specific areas. These functional tests are comprehensive and provide great overview how our body works. Certain, more simple tests can be done through you GP such as assessment of vitamin D status, Ferritin levels etc.
